"All our kids will go back to school looking good," said store manager Rochelle Gardner. "If you have kids, bring them in. It's just wonderful."
JC Penneys across the country will donate $1 for each hair cutto the Boys and Girls Club of America, Gardner said.
By mid-afternoon Wednesday, the kick off for the month-long event, stylists had cut 30 heads of hair with 55 kids booked for appointments.
Gardner said the salon expects at least 50 appointments a day through the month, totaling around 1,550 trims - and $1,550 to the Boys and Girls Club from the Woodland salon alone.
Wednesday afternoon stylists Angelina Avila, Amanda Hernandez and Annette Herrin kept busy cutting hair of sisters Kathrine, 10, Giselle, 6, and Gracie, 5, Ybarra. The girls will be attending Esparto Elementary.
Elizabeth Garcia, 10, was also at the salon getting her hair cut before starting Witter Ranch Elementary in Natomas.
The salon is taking appointments through the month and walk-in clients are also welcome. Hours are 10 a.m. to 8 p.m.
Those interested in getting an appointment can call 1-855-527-5437 or visit the store.
